Purpose
The Centre 48's inclusion policy outlines for our coordinator where the coordinator can reduce class costs for students with disabilities to encourage them to attend preschool and to have similar education and recreation opportunities as their peers who do not have a disability.
Policy
• In efforts to make the class more affordable and promote inclusion in our organization, if the student requires a support worker, the student may attend free of charge. It is not the responsibility of Centre 48 or our staff to provide or compensate for a support worker.
•To determine if a student is eligible their guardian must provide a letter of support from a support professional (teacher, doctor, daycare worker, social worker, early childhood consultant, etc) outlining the support the student will need.
Purpose
The Centre 48's coordinator and board will provide inclusion opportunities so that students attending classes to have similar education and recreation opportunities as their peers who do not have a disability.
Policy
•We will make a considerable effort to accommodate those with disabilities access to our programs.
•If this applies to our students, the student is to inform the coordinator prior to the class start so that we can make a reasonable attempt to accommodate those needs. If having a support worker attend the class with them, the support worker may attend free of charge.
